What’s not to love about pets? They are so adorable, and they are the best stress-relievers. But then comes pet stains – they are just one of those House Cleaning challenges we have to deal with every day. It seems like it has always been a choice between keeping a pet and keeping your House Cleaning duties to a minimum.

If you already own one or plan to get one, House Cleaning Redmond got some tips on removing pet stains from the most common surfaces seen at home. Knowing how to get rid of a stain is what you need to live harmoniously with your paw friends.

Getting pet stains out of the carpet

• Vinegar – The House Cleaning experts in Redmond’s favorite solution. Vinegar’s acidity is powerful; it can be used to get rid of pet stains off your carpets.

  1. Start by absorbing excess moisture – dab a towel or tissue on the wet surface.
  2. Mix equal amounts of vinegar and water, then pour the solution onto the surface.
  3. If needed, you may scrub the area gently.
  4. To get rid of the smell of vinegar, apply baking soda and leave it on for 24 hours – enough time to deodorize your carpet.
  5. To finish the process, vacuum excess baking soda.

Getting pet stains out of hardwood floors

• Hydrogen Peroxide – With its oxidizing agents, this House Cleaning agent makes it a good stain remover.

  1. Soak a cleaning cloth in hydrogen peroxide and use it to scrub the stained spot gently.
  2. For deeper stains, soak with hydrogen peroxide and leave it for a few hours until stains are no longer visible.

Getting pet stains out of concrete floors

• Enzymatic Cleaner – These House Cleaning products are specifically designed to work against stains. Probably the most straightforward, as there are some enzymatic cleaners designed solely for pet stains.

  1. First, rinse the spot where the stain and smell linger, using the vinegar solution you used for your carpet and the hydrogen peroxide you applied for your hardwood floor.
  2. Using an enzymatic cleaner, vigorously scrub as pee has probably seeped in the floor already.
  3. Cover the affected surface and leave it overnight. Leave it to dry.

Getting pet stains out of the couch

• Liquid Dishwashing Detergent – This is probably one of the multi-purpose House Cleaning agents as it can’t only be used to wash your dishes and get rid of grease, it can also be used against stains.

  1. Same as the carpet, excess water has to be blotted out using a disposable towel.
  2. Mix a cup of warm water and a few drops of dishwashing liquid, then pour into a spray bottle.
  3. Spray onto the stained spot, wipe the couch clean using a clean cloth.
  4. Repeat this House Cleaning tip until the stain has completely disappeared.

Toilet training for pets can be quite a slow process for busy people. Thus, preparing for the mess your pets are about to make saves you from baffling. Happy House Cleaning and pet keeping!
